Senior Backend Developer

The ideal candidate should have a strong background designing and maintaining cloud-based systems for consumer facing mobile applications capable of scaling to millions of users.

Responsibilities

Vet and improve upon existing backend architecture and tech stack (React Native, GraphQL API, SQL DB)
Assist in debugging production issues across the entire application stack
Design, build, and maintain internal services and systems with CI/CD pipelines
Improve engineering standards, tooling, and processes as we grow the team

Qualifications

3-5+ years of experience developing software and cloud-based systems
Strong skills with Node JS and server-side JavaScript
Work experience or familiarity with the following technologies: Node JS, React/React Native, SQL DBs, No-SQL DBs, RESTful APIs, GraphQL, and AWS services including at least RDS, EC2, and Lambda
Experienced in architectural patterns for high-scale applications, such as well-designed APIs, pipelines, and data structures
Experience or desire working in a small team, fast-paced startup atmosphere

Nice to have

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or similar major
Familiar with various approaches to stress testing for scale
Experience integrating with payment processing and/or shipping APIs such as Stripe and Shippo
Experience with elastic search
Experience with containerized applications and Docker
Experience designing data models and creating data pipelines
Experience with other languages such as Python or Ruby
Experience with other cloud providers such as GCP or Azure in addition to AWS
Passion for sneakers or a sneakerhead
